That said, I do think his play is pretty suspicious and looks quite a bit like quads. Check-raising bare trips on the turn I can see. But was he trying to check-raise TPTK (or worse) on the flop? That’s what I can’t see. He very well may overbet shove a bare 9 on the river, but does he check one on the flop?

Again, though, largely tongue-in-cheek.

Not at all. I am saying, though, that when a guy has a big tournament win and jumps into a high stakes cash game, the sharks circle. Even guys who don’t usually play those stakes will move up to play with him. So a less ethical player than myself might be tempted to make a new account impersonating a high-profile tourney winner so that he gets action from guys who wouldn’t otherwise play him.
