One Night in Paris

My flight from Madrid back to North America includes an overnight layover in Paris. I get in at 11:10 PM and don’t leave until 10:30 AM. Obviously it’s an awkward time to see the city, but ideally I’d like to get out a bit rather than sitting around the airport for 11 hours. Any readers in Paris interested in getting a late-night drink or even pulling an all-nighter with me? This would be the night of Sunday October 23rd.

Failing that, any suggestions for what I might be able to do in the middle of the night in Paris? I found a few 24-hour coffee shop type places that would still probably be better than the airport, but ideally I’d see a bit of the city if there’s anything that would be worth seeing at that hour. I’d really appreciate any suggestions. I know the subway doesn’t run all night, but it looks like it does run from 5:30 – 2:30, so I would be able to take it to and from the airport.

  1. Hey Andrew,
I’m a long time reader of the blog, and exchanged some emails with you, dont know if you remember.
I’m French and live in Paris, so how about i show you Paris by night?
Hope you had a great time in Europe for your poker trip!

    • Fabien I’ve sent you a few e-mails about this but I’m afraid maybe they’re not reaching you so I’m going to try posting this here. I have to leave for the airport in an hour but I’d really like to meet up with you if possible. If you still want to do this please leave a post here or email me (andrew@thinkingpoker.net) with when and where I should meet you.

      Thanks!
      Andrew

  2. My advice is to rent a car and drive to discover paris on your own.
cities are far better to visit at night and paris is one of the prettiest in the world.
this my thankyou for my long time reading of your blog!

  3. Go to the Latin Quarter if you want to grab a beer and hang out on the Pont des artes if its not too cold. Just be careful because the subways only run until 1 AM!
