SCOOP Days 13 and 14: Chun-Yat Set Gardnes and Six-Max Super Knockout

As much as I like Zoom tournaments, I needed a day off, and Friday was it. I spent a good chunk of the day at the Chun-Yet Sen Classical Garden. It proved not only interesting and beautiful but also the perfect place to unwind from the stresses of poker:

The only High buy-in event I played on Saturday was the $2000 Six-Max Progressive Super Knockout Variable Level Times. Say that three times fast. It was basically a turbo with bounties, pretty fun though my bounty was collected in rather gruesome fashion. First off, just because I’ve posted a lot of failed bluffs lately, here’s one that actually worked:

PokerStars – $1000+$1000+$100|40/80 NL (6 max) – Holdem – 6 players

  1. Actually its the Sun Yat Sen gardens. Named after Dr Sun Yat Sen the founder of the democratic movement in China and eventually the first President of the Republic of China.
The founder of the Kuomintang Party which was eventually ousted by the Communist Party of China and now resides in Taiwan.
He studied at the University in Hawaii while living with his brother and went to the same school that Barak Obama did, Punahou. A much beloved man by the Chinese and Chinese Americans of that period. Even though he was considered to be one of the greatest leaders of Modern China he always faced a life of exile because of the different cliques in China and the warlords.
    A much revered man.
Whenever I am in Vancouver I often visit the gardens and sit in it.
