  1. Aren’t there lots of good arguments fort jamming hand 1 pre? Looks like a typical good-equty-hard-to-play-post hand to me.
    – you should have decent fold equity an against any reasonable calling range you should be close to flipping.
    – you clean up some outs by jamming. BB is most likely not calling a shove with his actual hand which should make your A4 good for low a lot of times whe MP calls you with AAxx.
    – Maybe most importantly this hand tends to get you (or maybe it’s just me) in a lot of situations where you are forced to fold a hand with decent equity on the fop. I mean you had 31% in a three way pot with more than enough pot odds to call and you still folded since (I assume) there is no way of knowing where you’re at and how to play turns-rivers well. Isn’t this one of those “man i wish I was all in ” kind of flops that you’ll get a lot with this type of hand.

In NLO8 with 23BB stack and antes in play I would just jam pre. Calling would be more attractive in PLO8 or if the stacks were deeper IMO.

Hand 2: why are you calling turn raise and folding river? Trying to hit a boat with your 2pair? His turn raise should mean he has As at least but unless he has A2xx with nut spades specifically, most players would bet this turn with the nuts. He could very well have naked As with A2 and turn it into a check-raise bluff. I would either fold to his turn raise or call down.

  2. Slightly off topic, but what kind of stack depths do we open jam in NLO8? In NLHE people often prefer jamming when they have 6-8 times the dead money or less – often deeper going SB in BB. In NLO8 the equities run a lot closer pre-flop, so shouldn’t that mean people are jamming even deeper stacks than NLHE?

For example in Hand 2 how crazy would it be for SB to have mostly just jam or fold ranges here when he’s 15 times the dead money deep? Because it wouldn’t be that unusual to see stacks of 10x the dead money played like that from the SB in NLHE and we have closer-run equities here.
