On You, Lou

My latest piece for the Two Plus Two Magazine is more of a story than a strategy article. It’s about a friend of my grandmother’s who was a small-time gambler and a few conversations we had about poker:

“I saw you on ESPN,” he tells me once he’s made his left out of the parking lot. “I seen where one of them guys went out before you made about eighty thousand dollars.” There’s no question mark, but I know what he’s asking.

“That’s about what I made.”

His hands, already drumming the wheel, quicken their pace. “That’s great. That’s just great.” I’ve had some variant of this conversation a lot since cashing in the World Series of Poker. I try to play it cool, but Louie’s smile is contagious.

Hope you enjoy. If you’re interested in seeing more content like this, please let me know! I enjoyed writing it.
