I just kind of backed into this one. This guy was a pretty big station, so I would often just check back the turn with my big draw here, but the K is such a good scare card. Also, the guy was passive enough that I didn’t expect to get check-raised very often (though I guess that doesn’t matter if I’m going to do this on the river anyway). But it’s so unlikely for him to have better than top pair here, and I had no showdown value, so I felt I could profitably bluff the river. I figured his most likely holding to be a pair and a missed draw that would let go to a river shove. I hadn’t anticipated his out of position float with King high.
