The Road Home

About three months ago, my girlfriend and I left Baltimore driving west. My destination was Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, hers Austin, Texas where she’d be working for the summer. I documented that trip here and was surprised by the positive reception it got.

I’ve since joined her in Austin, and after a few hot and humid weeks here, the car is loaded and we’re headed back east. We won’t have quite as much time to make the trip back, nor did she have as much time to plan it, so I don’t know that there will be as many blog-worthy experiences along the way. So instead of posting about it here, I’m going to try using Twitter to share random thoughts and experiences from the road as the occur.

You can follow along @ThinkingPoker. I’ll do my best to keep it entertaining. We’re stopping off at the George W. Bush Presidential Library today, so that should be interesting.

  1. No question there is rich and interesting legacy:PATRIOT Act,WMD, Katrina’s “heck of a job”, Iraq’s “mission accomplished”, the bubble economy, and the hilarious gaffes, torture,Guantanamo
They should update his legacy with Snowden revelation about total surveillance state.
I wonder if George W. Bush library include a gallery room with his paintings.

    Anyway “he kept us safe.”

  2. I hope you will enjoy cooler weather as you come back East, and maybe some swimming holes along the way. Safe travels, and I’ll look forward to some tweets.
