Where Do You Listen to the Podcast?

We’ve recently gotten some cool emails from listeners describing when, how, and why they listen to the Thinking Poker Podcast. What about you? Is it part of your weekly routine? Are you a binge listener? Do you use it for entertainment or to warm up for a session at the tables? We’d love to post more pictures and stories. Here are two we received recently:

“I take an hour hike every Sunday morning, and 9 times out of ten you [guys] are my choice of hiking partners.  Attached is a selfie from a recent hike. Note the earbuds. Yep, I was dodging jumping cholla and leaning saguaros while literally laughing out loud at Carlos’ latest nittishness.
Love the podcast. Keep up the great work!
-Mark”
“Like many of your guests, I, too, had a marathon ThinkingPokerPodcast listening session. I drove my 1991 NSX (that I kept in Vegas b/c I was living there in the winters) from Vegas to Cape Cod. What a spectacular trip! On that trip, I listened to most of your episodes whenever my wife slept in the passenger seat.

  1. I race bicycles so I spend a lot of time in the winter riding on a trainer when it’s too cold. Your podcast has become my main way to pass the time – thanks a bunch!

  2. Driving towork is my most common time to listen, though it’s not ideal as my commute is only 30 minutes and I often have to stop in the middle of something and go back and listen later. My favorite is to listen while riding my bike, mowing the lawn (summer) or shoveling the driveway (winter).

  3. I listen while preparing and eating dinner. It may not be as mindful as silence but it’s a good way to keep up. It’s not every night, and it is entertaining!

  4. I listen to it on the El to work every Thursday or Friday (and remainder on the way home), depending upon when I get the download. I happened to have stumbled across it shortly after Episode 1 came out, so I lucked out and have been a listener since the start. I’m in Chicago, so nothing exotic here (except cold this week).

  5. I work for a major publisher of science journals and every Thursday (more or less) I need to compile and send out a newsletter to subscribers. This involves a fair amount of copying and pasting and other tasks of a repetitive nature, so the podcast is the ideal accompaniment to my Thursday morning in the office.

  6. I had a summer job working evenings doing mind numbing data entry/processing, listened to about 3-4 episodes a shift so i started again from ep. 1 and burned through everything in a few weeks, think i ended up listening to everything about twice and my favorites more than that.

  7. I’ m self employed working in construction, always lissening with my phone to your (and other poker) podcast. During work I cant always concentrate fully on what is said. I think heard every episode 3 to 4 times. Also lissening whyle walking the dog, driving etc.
By the way, I live in Belgium. You are expanding in europ 🙂
