Can’t Keep a Good Man Down

What is it with me losing three-way pre-flop all ins with Aces on the bubble of the final table of big Full Tilt tournaments? This is with 20 people left in the $300 6-max Saturday tournament.

  1. Congrats!

The feeling of crushing a final table and taking 1st is far greater than anything you can achieve playing ring games. Nice work.

  2. Can you explain the J-2s hand?

I’d like to know your thinking on the small re-raise on the flop to t39373 and what hand you put villain on.

It just seems way to risky to call for essentially your tourney life in that spot.

    • It’s a good question, and one that I spend a lot of time talking about on the video. Basically, the problem I’m dealing with is that I have a very strong hand relative to my range, but being out of position and without the initiative, I’m going to have a hard time getting worse hands to payoff.

My intention was to keep my range as wide as possible. If I check-call, or bet-call for that matter, I think I’m going to freeze him up. He’ll probably stop bluffing and just take a freeroll on me with whatever outs he may have. Three-betting the flop is the bluffiest way I can think of to keep putting money in the pot. My intention was to induce a bluff.

What I was really expecting was either a small 4-bet or a light call. When he shoved, I actually had to think for a few seconds, even though my intention originally was to induce a bluff. I decided there were enough flush draws and maybe even random bluffs in his range to warrant a call.
