Five For Seven’s Not So Bad

Sorry I’ve been slow in updating here. For those who didn’t see on Twitter, I busted out of the WSOP main event shortly before the dinner break on Day 2A. It was a quite uninteresting day except for the two hands that I probably misplayed and cost me my stack. Even those aren’t terribly interesting, but as usual my write-up will be in a forthcoming 2+2 Magazine, so I’m not going to say much about them right now. Just wanted to say thanks for all the well-wishers and sorry that I won’t have a more substantive trip report for you. At least we got a What’s Your Play? out of it. Speaking of which get your comments in now if you haven’t already, pre-flop results go up tomorrow.

  1. It was truly a bummer to hear of your early exit as always your reports and your website is a joy to read.

As I’ve stated many a times you give me my poker fix until the US comes around and allows me to play again on hopefully a safe site. (or what I consider safe)

  2. sorry to hear, it just shows how much respect you have when people are actually surprised to hear you busted out before the cash… good luck next time!

  3. if you need a mailbag question, i’d like to ask one… andrew, since you are an accomplished cash and tournament player, can you explain what factors affect your bet sizing when it comes to cash games and tournaments? i consider myself a decent cash player but barely a breakeven tournament player and i think one of my weaknesses is not differentiating between the 2 when i size my bets… similarly, not just bet sizing but even actions… like say your oop with a straight draw and one over card, in cash, i think it’s ok to check raise etc… but in tournament, should you be more conservative since your chips cannot be replenished? thanks in advance…
